CAPTAIN  D.F. “LYN” WILLIAMS
Capt. Williams is a 32 year veteran with the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Capt. Williams has experience in numerous areas of law enforcement, to include, Dispatch, Patrol, and all of the Administrative functions of law enforcement. Capt. Williams graduated with an Associate’s Degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2005 with a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice.  Capt. Williams is the Patrol and Administrative Captain and is over the Patrol Units, Reserve Deputies, Administrative Divisions of this agency to include the: Fiscal / Financial / Grants / Human Resources / Off-duty & Special Duty Details / Training Division / and the Fleet Department.  Capt. Williams has completed two Advanced Homeland Security training courses in Israel and training from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Executive Institute – Legacy Leadership Course as well as St. Petersburg College – Strategic Leadership Training Programs.  Capt. Williams has written numerous grants for law enforcement services saving Union County hundreds of thousands of dollars. 

Capt. Williams has received commendations from a Florida State Representative, two Florida Governors and had the honor of appearing on stage at the U.S. Capitol with President George W. Bush during a Law Enforcement National Memorial speech.

Capt. Williams holds certifications as a Glock Armor, Firearm Instructor, Stop Stick Instructor, TASER Instructor and Incident Command System and specialty training in Speed Measurement RADAR/LASER Operations, Child Abuse Recognition, Meth Lab Identification, Advanced Report Writing Emergency Vehicle Operations, Active Shooter as well as many others.

LIEUTENANT WILLIAM “BILLY” MILLER

Lieutenant Miller has over 35 years of Law Enforcement and Corrections experience.  Lt. Miller retired as a Lieutenant/Watch Commander and former Special Response Team Commander from the Baker County Sheriff’s Office (22 years) and worked four yearsw for the Department of Corrections-Office of Inspector General.  He has been employed with our agency since 2019.  

Lt. Miller is a current firearm and general instructor with our agency as well as specialized training in Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, Sex Crimes, Hostage Negotiations, Traffic Homicide Investigations, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, Domestic Invention, and Injury and Death Investigation.  Lt. SERGEANT / INVESTIGATOR C.W. "BILLY" TOWNSEND

Sergeant Townsend has worked for the Union County Sheriff’s Office in different capacities for 28 years.  Sgt. Townsend worked in Communications, Corrections, Reserves, Patrol and current serving in the Investigative Division.  Townsend supervises members engaged in patrol, traffic, investigations and our drug enforcement unit and completes the performance of other specialized or technical duties. SERGEANT - EVENING SHIFT - R.S. "SCOTT" ANDREWS

Sergeant Andrews has worked for the Union County Sheriff's Office in patrol for over 11 years. Previous to his employment with our agency, Sgt. Andrews worked for Waldo Police Department, Clay County Sheriff's Office and Starke Police Department in patrol, traffic and drug interdiction. Sgt. Andrews served as a Sergeant for Starke Police Department. Sgt. Andrews retired from the Department of Corrections.  Sgt. Andrews has shown great leadership skills through his role as S.W.A.T. Team Leader with our joint-agency Special Response Team.  Sgt. Andrews is also an instructor with the Department of Corrections and teaches many high liability classes throughout our surrounding agencies.Sgt. Andrews also is a certified Field Training Officer with our agency and has specialized training in Interviews, Injury and Death Investigations, Line Supervision, Drug Investigations and Domestic Intervention.  Sgt. SERGEANT – EVENING SHIFT – JAMES JANKOWSKI 

Sgt. Jankowski is a 10+ year veteran with our agency, starting out in our Communication Division. Sgt. Jankowski has been very active on the joint county S.W.A.T. team.  Sgt. Jankowski holds numerous advanced law enforcement certifications to include, Advanced Reporting Writing, Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Investigations, Interview and Interrogations, Injury and Death Investigations, Domestic and Violent Crime Investigator and Hostage Negotiations.  Sgt. Jankowski will supervise deputies, specifically on evening shift and weekends, review cases and reports, relay information to other supervisors.
